The newest Villiger is on its way to retailers. It’s actually three new Villigers, all under the San’Doro name. The company previewed the cigars at both the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July and last month’s InterTabac trade fair in Dortmund, Germany. A total of three blends are offered under the San’Doro name: Brazilian Puro Maduro, Claro and Colorado. The Brazilian version is a puro made at Villiger’s factory in Bahia, Brazil. It uses a mata fina wrapper, mata norte binder and mata fina and mata norte fillers. It’s offered only in a toro size. The name San’Doro comes from the Latin phrase, Indorum sang sancta, which translates to “Sacred healing plant from India.” The other two are both made at Oliva’s TABOLISA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Colorado uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. As for the Claro, it features an Ecuadorian Connecticut habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Both cigars are offered in Churchill, Robusto and Toro formats. Pricing ranges from $11-14.50 and each size comes in boxes of 20.
