The Paris, Tex. City Council has voted against a comprehensive and sweeping smoking ban, according to a report on TheParisNews.com. The proposal called for a ban at smoking in bars, restaurants and other public places, but had been met with opposition from Mayor A.J. Hashmi. While they voted down the current proposal, the council has formed a committee to rewrite the ban, with an expectation that a proposal will appear before the council at a future date. Paris is located in between Dallas and the Louisiana border with a population around 25,000.
