Kafie Cigars has announced plans to release its second new line this year, as the Kafie 1901 Sumatra is scheduled to begin shipping to retail on Nov. 1. The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, with the binder coming from the Reyes Family Farms in Honduras and the filler being sourced from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Production is handled by the Reyes’ Tabacalaera Puros Aliados factory in Honduras. When released, the Kafie 1901 Sumatra will be the third regular production line for the brand, joining the Kafie 1901 Maduro and Kafie 1901 Connecticut, the latter of which was released in early April. For Dr. Gaby Kafie, he sees this third line as enabling his company to offer “a solid and versatile line of boutique cigars.” The Kafie 1901 Sumatra will be introduced in four regular production sizes, Robusto (5 x 50, $6.99), Toro Bello (6 x 54, $7.49), Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52, $7.99) and VI Sixty (6 x 60, $8.50). The Robusto, Toro Bello and VI Sixty will all come in 20-count boxes, while the Torpedo will be packed in boxes of ten.
