Patoro’s second release in the U.S. market is on its way to retailers, as Dr. Pablo Richard told halfwheel that shipping of the Gran Añejo Reserva begins this week. Much like the debut Patoro Serie P release, the Gran Añejo Reserva Serie — USA Edition was first launched in Europe and is getting a tweak to the blend and packaging that customers on this side of the Atlantic will see. It uses the same Dominican fillers as the European version, but the wrapper is an Ecuadorian havano version in place of the Ecuadorian Connecticut found on the original line. The packaging also changes from the natural cedar presentation found in Europe to a gold painted box for the U.S. The bands also get a subtle refresh, replacing the P found on the European version with the full PATORO name, again on a cardinal colored background. The Gran Añejo Reserva comes in four vitolas: Gordito (4 x 58), Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 50) and Churchill (7 1/2 x 50).
