Steve Saka’s first release under his new Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is getting closer, but not without one change. Saka has announced that the Sobremesa Belicoso Largo (6 x 52) will not be part of the initial release, replaced by the a Torpedo Tiempo (6 x 54) instead. “I did not like the large format “Belicoso Largo” (6×52) after it aged out,” said Saka on Facebook. “Something about the shape and flavor combo that was not perfect imo once it was allowed resting time – in short, it needs work and even though it is a huge hit to the wallet, I am scrapping this vitola.” Interestingly, he later said that he has not “given up on” the Belicoso Largo, saying that new molds would be needed to get leaf placement where he wanted. In addition, Saka indicated that orders are expected to ship on Nov. 1, 2015, although the Torpedo Tiempo will ship in December. He previously told halfwheel that Nicaragua’s traditional rainy season would likely push the release of Sobremesa back a bit because he didn’t want the cigars to be overly wet. Pricing for the Torpedo Tiempo will be the same as the Belicoso Largo, $13 per cigar. ...
