La Flor Dominicana was one of the booths that had a couple of very busy days, then experienced a wave lull that I discussed in my Day 2 Recap. That’s good news for you guys, though, because it gave me a chance to talk to Litto Gomez about some of the new products. Their booth didn’t look much different from last year, however there were plenty of new products they were showing off, which should all be shipping in mid September if everything goes according to plan. The first product is the 1994 Tango. It’s the same blend as before but in a new size – a 4 1/2 x 48. It will come in boxes of 20 and retail at $136.00 for the box, or $6.80 a cigar. Next was the Salomón Especial, a limited edition cigar featuring a Nicaraguan Sungrown Habano and Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Underneath that is all Dominican tobacco grown at Estancia La Flor de Palma in La Canela. The size is a 7 x 64 in a 10 count box that is going to retail for $258.00, or $25.80 each. They did not have a box count for how many released, but said it was very limited. ...
