It’s been a bit of a hot-button topic among fans of the brand, but Crowned Heads’ feature release at this year’s show is La Imperiosa, a new regular production line that is the same blend as the Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2014. The artwork comes from an old Cuban brand, which was also on display in the booth: There will be four different violas at launch, all sold in boxes of 24: Corona Gorda (5 3/4 x 46), Magicos (4 1/2 x 52), Double Robusto (6 3/8 x 50) and Dukes (5 1/2 x 54), with prices in the $8-10 range. There will also be a sampler of the four sizes available for $29.99, all of which should begin shipping in the last week of July. Jericho Hill is getting a new vitola as well, the 5 x 56 Jack Brown, which will sell for $9.55 before taxes and should be on its way to stores by the end of July as well. And of course, there are hats: Beyond that, there are a few other things coming from Crowned Heads this year, though Huber wouldn’t say much beyond that.
