Cornelius & Anthony is set to release its debut cigar at the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, a line called Meridian. The cigar comes wrapped in an Ecuadorian gordo leaf with a double binder from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic underneath and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The company says the cigar has a layered complexity of sweetness and spice with cedar undertones. Meridian is being offered in four sizes for its launch with prices between $7.60 and $9 per cigar: a Lonsdale (6 3/4 x 46), Gordo (6 x 60), Toro (6 x 54) and Robusto (5 x 52), all in 20-count boxes. PDR Cigars in the Dominican Republic is handling production, with shipping of orders placed at the show scheduled to begin by Sept. 1. Cornelius & Anthony is making its IPCPR debut this year and is part of the Bailey family’s S&M Brands, which is best know for the Bailey’s cigarette brand. The company recently hired Courtney Smith as director of business development and Spence Drake as national sales director.
