For the most part, the cigar industry likes to run on its own time, but Fred Rewey has found a way to jump out ahead. Rewey’s Nomad Cigar Co. has shipped its latest release, Therapy by Nomad Cigar Co. When the new cigar went out to retailers on Wednesday, it was a few weeks ahead of its planned IPCPR Trade Show & Convention release. Therapy is actually six different cigars—the same two vitolas in the three different blends—4 1/2 x 50 ($6.95) and 6 x 60 ($7.49). The line is made at Tabacalera Fernandez S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The Habano uses an Ecuadorian habano rosado wrapper and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. As for the Maduro, it’s Pennsylvania broadleaf over a habano binder from Jalapa and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s offered in trays with refill bundles of 20. Nomad is distributed by House of Emilio. Rewey previously told halfwheel that he would initially the cigar to 100 accounts. The 2015 IPCPR Trade Show & Convention begins next week in New Orleans, La.
