Joya de Nicaragua found enough success with the its 45th anniversary cigar that it’s coming back. The company has announced that it will be introducing the Cuatro Cinco Reserva Especial—a modified version of the Cuatro Cinco the company released in 2013—on a limited, yet ongoing basis with the first shipment beginning later this month. Everything about the release, is familiar, yet modified. The packaging now features “Reserva Especial” on the top of the band and substantially more silver than the relatively gold on black band that adorned the 2013 limited edition. The same goes for the blend, it’s based on the Cuatro Cinco Edición Limitada blend, including using five-year-old Nicaraguan ligero aged in oak barrels that previously held rum, a wrapper from the Jalapa region, but the company has added a Dominican volado binder.
