At next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Crowned Heads will add its first regular production line extension to the Jericho Hill line, Jack Brown. Jericho Hill Jack Brown is a 5 x 56 robusto extra, the sixth vitola in the Jericho Hill line, which also includes the Jericho Hill OBS (4 3/4 x 52), Jericho Hill .44S (5 1/8 x 44), Jericho Hill Willy Lee (6 x 54), Jericho Hill LBV (6 1/2 x 46) and the Jericho Hill Shots (4 1/2 x 42), which was released in February. The line is made at My Father Cigars, S.A., Estelí, Nicaragua and incorporates a Mexican San Andrés wrapper covering Nicaraguan tobacco used in the binder and fillers. Like the rest of the cigars in the line, the name of the new size is taken from Johnny Cash’s song “Cocaine Blues,” which tells the tale of Willy Lee, a man who travels down a destructive path and eventually kills a woman while under the influence of both whiskey and cocaine. He is eventually caught in Juarez, Mexico by the unnamed sheriff from a town named Jericho Hill. In the song, Jack Brown is the alias that Willy Lee uses in order to try and evade the authorities.
