Nearly one year after it was first announced, the Asylum Nyctophilia is on its way to stores. The cigar was announced last July, shortly before the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, only it never made it to the trade show. At the time, Tom Lazuka told halfwheel that they were delaying the cigar because of the crowdedness of the market. Nyctophilia reemerged earlier this year shortly before the annual Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) Meeting & Convention. The cigar was shown off there and will now be an exclusive for TAA members for a year or so, before heading to stores nationwide. The cigar is made entirely of maduro leaves with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper and fillers from Nicaragua. Three sizes are available: 5 x 50, 6 x 60 and 7 x70. Pricing is set between $6-8. Asylum Nyctophlia began shipping on Tuesday. The cigar is made at an undisclosed Nicaraguan factory. It is distributed by CLE Cigar Co.
