After announcing a pair of new vitolas for its Nica Rustica line at the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Drew Estate is ready to release one of them, though in a slightly different size. The new Belly vitola is a 7 1/2 x 54 belicoso that will be released at a July 30 event held by Cox’s Smoker’s Outlet in Louisville, Ken. Attendees will receive two singles and have the opportunity to purchase additional cigars at a price of $7.95 per cigar or $198.75 for a 25-count bundle. Jonathan Drew is scheduled to be in attendance at the launch event. The new size is scheduled to begin shipping nationally in September. It uses the same blend of Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan filler from Jalapa and Estelí. It will also share the same presentation style as the existing 6 x 52 vitola that was released in 2013, with decorative boxes holding two of the 25-count boxes, though the boxes are only intended for retail use; not to be sold or otherwise given away.
