There’s another cigar brand in South Florida. Bat Brothers Cigars says it didn’t enter the cigar business because of a long family history or even roots in Cuba, rather, it’s a group of smokers who wanted their own cigar. That cigar is coming from Noel Rojas and his Tabacalera Aromas de Jalapa factory. The cigar is Luna de Estelí, a two-vitola line with a four-year-old Mexican San Andrés negro wrapper, Estelí, Nicaragua-sourced binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa. It’s offered in Gordo (6 x 60, $8.75) and Toro Gordo (6 x 56 “semi-pressed,” $8.50). The company began shipping cigars in April with a handful of stores in South Florida and New York.
