The small town of Farmington in northern Mississippi has passed new legislation which bans smoking on both city and public property, as well as within 15 feet of the public entrance to businesses. The ban still allows smokers to light up on private property and in their homes. Those cited for violating the new ban, which includes all smoked tobacco products as well as electronic cigarettes and is expected to go into effect within the next 30 days, will face fines of $50.
