La Flor Dominicana will be back at the Texas Cigar Festival in Houston, and will once again be bringing a limited edition for sale to attendees. The 2015 edition uses the same tobacco blend as was used on the 2014 edition, which scored 89 points on halfwheel, and the 2013 edition, which earned a score of 88, though the vintages of the tobacco are different. The blend was created by Litto Gomez at the request of Ron Lesseraux, owner of Serious Cigars, who asked that the cigar maker create something unique for the event. Gomez had complete creative control on the blend and size of the cigar. The La Flor Dominicana Texas Cigar Festival blend uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Sumatra binder and filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It returns in a 6 1/2 x 50 toro extra vitola, with a single stick price of $8.20. Just 70 ten count boxes are being produced at Tabacalera La Flor S.A., each with an MSRP of $82. The 2015 Texas Cigar Festival happens Saturday, April 25 at Serious Cigars’ Champions location in Houston, Texas.
