Robert Caldwell is growing his company’s portfolio with the addition of four new sizes that will have a limited release this month before a full-scale launch at the 2015 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July. Caldwell Cigar Co.’s Eastern Standard line is growing by two vitolas: a 6 x 54 super toro ($12) and 6 x 50 piramide ($13) are being added, while Long Live the King will be getting a 5 x 52 belicoso ($11) and The King is Dead adds a 6 1/2 x 42 lonsdale ($10). All four new sizes will come in 24 count boxes and are scheduled to be on select store shelves by the end of April. Only 500 boxes of each of the new sizes are being produced at this point, with first dibs going to the group of retailers known as the First 49, those who were among the first to support the brand. Caldwell told halfwheel that he anticipates the bulk of the retailers that will have the new sizes will be on the west coast as well as in the southeastern U.S. The new sizes will be available to all Caldwell Cigar Co. accounts at this summer’s trade show.
