Casa Turrent Slated for May 2015

The Turrent family has a new cigar planned for the U.S. and European markets next month, a three-vitola line called Casa Turrent. In a press release, the company says that this new line will “dignify our tobacco and our family,” adding that the blend has been in development for two years and shows just what Mexican tobacco, specifically the tobacco they grow, is capable of producing. The company adds that the Casa Turrent blend delivers intense, complex, balanced and smooth flavors highlighted by notes of nuts, cocoa and wood. The company isn’t releasing much information on the specifics of the blend, however, noting that the wrapper is a San Andrés maduro but keeping the binder and filler a secret. The Casa Turrent line will be released in three sizes: a 5 1/2 x 50 torpedo, 5 1/4 x 50 robusto and a 5 3/4 x 52 gran robusto. Each will come in 20-count boxes with single stick MSRPs between $8-9 in the U.S. and €8-9 in Europe.
