A new cigar from Erik Espinosa will soon be on its way to retail, as he has announced the launch of the Espinosa Especial, a three-vitola line coming out of his La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. “It’s a new line, a new blend, a new cigar, but it’s everything you have come to expect from Espinosa Cigars and La Zona,” Espinosa said via a press release. The Espinosa Especial uses a Mexican Capa Negra wrapper while the binders and fillers come from the four main cigar growing regions of Nicaragua: Estelí, Jalapa, Condega and Ometepe. Espinosa called the Especial a new concept that has its own distinct personality that will deliver a new smoking experience for consumers. “Aside from that, it is an exceptional cigar, I just love the taste of this blend from the minute we created it,” he noted. The cigar is slated to hit shelves by mid-April and will be available in three vitolas, the 6 1/2 x 48 No. 1, the 5 x 52 No. 4 and the 6 x 54 No. 5. Each is a regular production release and will come in 10-count boxes, though the company has yet to finalize prices.
