Viaje is heading to the Dominican Republic. After months of being spotted in both Germany and the Dominican Republic with Abe Flores of PDR Cigars, brand owner Andre Farkas made it official—Viaje will be moving some production to Flores’ PDR Cigars. News of the move was first reported by Cigar Insider. Viaje Collaboration 2015, which measures 6 x 52, will use an Ecuadorian Havana 2000 wrapper and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The release is limited to 600 boxes of 20 and will be packaged in individual coffins. In addition, Viaje C-4 and TNT, which is scheduled for June—a month before Collaboration 2015—will be made at PDR Cigars, a return for both series as neither cigar was part of Viaje’s summer releases last year. The company introduced TNT in 2010 and C-4 the following year and the pair are some of the only cigars in Viaje’s expansive portfolio of largely annual releases that did not change in size or shape throughout the various installments. Also missing last year was Summerfest and Late Harvest. Late last year, Farkas indicated that he was testing Summerfest at a new factory. PDR Cigars marks the fifth factory for Viaje.
