Warped Expands Flor Del Valle With Sky Flower

Warped’s ever expanding portfolio will get a new addition next month—Flor Del Valle Sky Flower. After a few weeks of teasing, Kyle Gellis finally explained what he had planned for the line’s fourth vitola. It’s not just a new size—5 5/8 x 48—but also a slightly tweaked blend. Sky Flower will use the same base blend as the rest of the Flor Del Valle line—a Nicaraguan puro—but adds some medio tiempo leaf. Medio tiempo is the priming found on some tobacco plants above the ligero priming. While the leaves are smaller, they are also more potent. It gained some notoriety a few years ago when Habanos S.A. announced the Cohiba BHK would utilize it. Like the rest of the line, Flor Del Valle Sky Flower is made at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) in Estelí, Nicaragua. While the cigar will be a regular production item, Gellis indicated that its production will be more limited due to difficulty of obtaining workable medio tiempo leaf. Sky Flower is sold in 10-count boxes, as opposed to 25-count for the rest of the line, and priced at $12.50 per cigar. It will debut at an event at Corona Cigars in Orlando, Fla. on ...
