After raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21 in March 2014, the town of Winchester, Mass. is looking to impose more restrictions on tobacco sales as early as this summer. During its March 9 meeting, the town’s board of health will discuss several proposals, including  banning the sale of flavored tobacco and flavored e-cigarettes, implementing a minimum cost on cigars of $2.15 and $5 for a two-pack, and banning smoking in workplaces, public places and the areas around public buildings, according to Wicked Local Winchester. Any changes will require two of the three board members to vote in favor of them. Winchester has a population of just over 21,000 residents and is located about nine miles northwest of Boston.
