Fans of the E.P. Carrillo Short Run won’t have to wait much longer to try the latest from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. The company has informed retailers that the E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2015 will begin shipping in mid-March. Now in its sixth release, the basic details have become tradition: it’s a late winter/spring release, limited in production, made in three sizes and sold in boxes of 24. All of those hold true for the 2015 edition. It uses a Nicaraguan criollo 98 wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The wrapper is paramount to the release. Perez-Carrillo Jr. wanted to create a cigar sometime ago using a wrapper similar to this particular leaf, but he couldn’t find it until recently. The company is describing this cigar as “sharing a memory.” The three sizes for the release are Napoleon (5 x 50, $6.75), Vencedores (6 x 52, $7.75) and Imperios (6 x 60, $8.75). All three sizes come in boxes of 24 and are limited to 1,500 boxes.
