Quesada Previews Reserva Privada at ProCigar 2015

The most premium cigar from Quesada is coming, designed by the family’s fourth and fifth generations, with tobacco from the third generation. At a tour as part of the 2015 ProCigar festival, the company showed off Reserva Privada, the company’s newest cigar. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Dominican criollo wrapper from the 1997 vintage and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic’s San Vicente region, including the 1997 vintage, and ligero from Pennsylvania. Reserva Privada will be offered in three sizes: 4 1/2 x 52, 5 5/8 x 54 and 6 1/2 x 56 with pricing set between $12.95-14.95. Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr. described the cigar as having roots in three generations. Some of the filler tobacco used in the cigar was planted and picked before his father, Manuel Sr. passed away in 1998. The boxes on the other hand have their roots in the fifth generation, younger and more modern including a hologram on the inside. The cigars will begin shipping in April to select retailers as part of a soft launch. Each of those retailers will receive two boxes of each size at the beginning of the month through July.
