There’s another city in Massachusetts raising the age to purchase tobacco products to 21, as the South Hadley Board of Health unanimously approved the increase at its meeting on Wednesday evening. The board announced its intention to raise the age in late January, holding a public hearing prior to the vote. WGGB-TV reports that there were arguments made on both sides of the matter before the board approved the increase, which goes into effect on April 1. South Hadley is located about 90 miles west of Boston and has a population of approximately 17,500 residents.
