The majority of General Cigar Co.’s lines will see a two to three percent increase in MRP as the company raises prices. While nearly 30 lines remain untouched, one line is seeing a decrease, CAO Brazilia. For Brazilia, prices are going down between 10-15 percent, roughly one dollar per size. The Amazon, for example, will now be priced at $7.95 instead of $8.95. Some of the more popular sizes in the U.S. cigar market will increase in price. The Macanudo Hyde Park will increase from $6.79 to $6.99, the Cohiba Toro Tubo will go from $17.49 to $17.99 and the Punch Rothschildes will go from $4.49 to $4.69. The 2014 price sheet still lists some discontinued items, as General Cigar Co. will continue selling the items until it runs out of stock of those items.
