Internally, it’s been described as anything from an “experiment” to a “magnum opus.” Whichever Room101’s next cigar actually is, you are not going to forget it. Next month, the company will ship the Room101 Uncle Lee, a cigar that will almost certainly be known as, “that one that comes in a cereal box.” To be precise, the cigars do not come in a cereal box, but rather, they are packaged in a wooden box which is then placed in a cardboard shell that looks like a cereal box. And that’s just the start. While the packaging might not make it evident to most, Uncle Lee is actually a serious tribute from Room101 founder Matt Booth to his uncle, Leroy Knouse, the man who introduced him to cigars and more. “It was through my Uncle Leroy that I was first introduced to Bob Marley’s music, the appropriate manner in which to leverage extreme profanity across all facets of conversational English, and the pleasure of cigar smoking,” writes Booth. “Leroy Knouse has been a constant inspiration to me. By observing his ‘habits’ from afar I have learned and absorbed more from him than he will ever realize. This is my tribute to Uncle Lee.” ...
