Next week, two new Rocky Patel cigars will arrive on shelves nationwide. The company informed halfwheel that it will begin shipping the new Rocky Patel Decade Cameroon and Rocky Patel Super Ligero, two of the four new cigars it showed off at the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in July. The announcement comes after a rather rare occurrence from Rocky Patel Premium Cigars Inc. Normally, the company is arguably the best in the cigar industry when it comes to announcing estimated ship dates and then actually shipping those products on time. This year, it was unable to give ship dates for all of its new cigars introduced at the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show. As for the cigars, Super Ligero seemed to garner the most attention at the IPCPR show, a new cigar that uses experimental ligeros grown by the Plasencia family. The goal is to create something that has the nicotine-content of ligero, but without the harshness that can oftentimes be associated with the stronger tobacco. The cigars are made by the Plasencia family at the El Paraiso factory in Danlí, Honduras using a Honduran habano wrapper, habano binder and filler tobaccos from Costa Rica and Nicaragua. It’s ...
