Puros Indios Cigars, the company founded by Rolando Reyes, Sr. and maker of the Cuba Aliados and Puros Indios lines, has announced several changes to its business structure that has created more defined roles for a number of people within the company. Carlos Diez, Reyes’ grandson, authored a press release in which he announced that he is handling all international distribution and private label manufacturing. His brother, Alex, along with the company’s longtime marketing director, Frank Santos, are directly responsible for U.S. distribution of the company’s two brands, under the recently formed Diez & Santos Distributors. Diez’s mother, Oneida Reyes Diez runs the day-to-day operations at the company’s Tabacalera Puros Aliados factory in Danlí, Honduras, while his father, Enrique Diez, is in charge of the company’s tobacco cultivation, which Carlos Diez said is “a major component of our business.” The press release also mentioned that Puros Indios Cigars has “forged a relationship” with Dr. Gaby Kafie, known for his line of Kafie 1901 cigars that have been made at Tabacalera Puros Aliados since early 2013, though the company didn’t go into further detail about what all the relationship will entail.
