The first of this year’s annual Edición Limitada series has arrived, in Germany. The Partagás Seleccíon Privada, which measures just shy of 6 3/10 inches (160 mm) by 50, is the first of the three scheduled Edición Limitadas to be released and is expected to begin debuting in other areas of Europe in the coming weeks. Two La Casa del Habanos in Germany have the cigars listed at €180, around $230, per box of 10. While the cigar was announced at the Festival del Habano XVI in February, attendees were not offered a chance to try the cigar, instead, they were given the Cohiba Robusto Supremos, one of the other Edición Limitads for this year, alongside the Bolívar Super Coronas. The late September release falls in line with the recent release schedule for the Edición Limitada series. If 2014 mimics last year and others before it, the Bolívar and Cohiba should be released before the end of the year. In 2000, Habanos S.A. launched the Edición Limitada series, which creates cigars that are not offered in the regular production portfolio for select brands.
