The two newest limited editions from Stephen Adib’s Cuba Rica have shipped to retailers.  Barabbas is the more limited of the two. It’s offered in a single size, a 5 1/2 x 54 robusto extra, wrapped in an Ecuadorian habano cover leaf over undisclosed fillers. Only 33 retailers will receive the cigar, each will get a custom display humidor and will then receive three 33-count wheels at the beginning of every month. The number 33 comes from the age Jesus of Nazareth was believed to be when he was crucified. Its name is drawn from Barabbas, the prisoner freed by Pontius Pilate instead of Jesus of Nazareth. Pricing is set at $20 for Barabbas. The other is Spirit of Art, named for the late Art Kalasho, a friend of Adib. It’s limited to 50 accounts and is offered in three sizes: 52 (4 3/4 x 52, $15), SOA 54 (5 3/4 x 54, $17) and SOA 56 (6 1/2 x 56, $19. As for the blend, Spirit of Art uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a blend of undisclosed fillers.  All three sizes are sold in boxes of 10. Both cigars are made at Tabacos de Costa Rica factory in Costa Rica. (Images via ...
