On Monday night, the Kennesaw City Council voted to ban the use of all tobacco products and e-cigarettes at both of the city’s parks in a move that is said will protect children who use the spaces. The move eliminates the designated smoking areas that had previously been in place and sets up a penalty system that would give repeat offenders not just a monetary fine but possible jail time, according to a report on MyFoxAtlanta.com. The full text of the ordinance has not yet been posted online. Parks occupy approximately 130 acres of land in the city. Kennesaw is located about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta and has a population of approximately 31,000 residents.
