Earlier this year, RoMa Craft Tobac announced that Doc James Cigars & Golf would be getting an exclusive perfect version of the company’s Aquitaine line; earlier today, the company announced it expects to begin selling the cigars on Sept. 6. The 6 1/2 x 56 petit salomones shape was first introduced in the CroMagnon line as an exclusive for R. Field Wine Co. Outside of the wrapper and retailer, the cigars are quite similar. They both feature the same blend of Nicaraguan fillers and Cameroon binder, although the Aquitaine line uses an Ecuadorian habano ligero wrapper in place of the Connecticut broadleaf found on CroMagnon. Both cigars carry an MSRP of $10, although because of local taxes, in-store purchase at Doc James’s Shrub Oak store will be charged $11.50 per cigar. The latest from the Aquitaine line will likely be the Aquitaine Breuil, a 5 1/2 x 37 panatela created as part of The Panatela Project, a sampler panatelas expected to arrive at Just For Him this month. The cigars are made at the Fabrica de Tabacos NicaSueño S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
