It’s no secret in Texas that Jorge Ahued not only likes the lancero vitola, but also is one of a few retailers who is quite proficient at selling the higher-priced thinner cigars. As such, when the co-owner of Stogies World Class Cigars in Houston asks for a lancero, there’s a good chance people will at least listen. Alec Bradley listened and then acted, creating the Nica Puro H-Town Lancero, an exclusive 7 x 40 rendition of the company’s line. It’s the second in what Ahued told halfwheel will be a 10-part series, following last year’s release of the Room101 Namakubi Ecuador H-Town Lancero. This time, it’s a Nicaraguan puro made by the Plasencia family. Like the Room101 release, the Nica Puro H-Town is limited to 500 boxes of 20 cigars with pricing set at $7.95 per cigar. This is the second time the word “lancero” and the state of Texas have been linked by Alec Bradley this year.
