L’Atelier Imports has begun to send out the first of its new releases from the 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show, as the company’s Selection Spéciale Torpedo and 38 Special lancero have arrived at at least one retailer: Dan Welsh’s New Havana Cigars. In addition to being the proprietor of the Columbus, Ohio retailer, Welsh is one of the founders of L’Atelier Imports and currently heads up the company’s brand development, marketing and sales. Both new sizes come in 20-count boxes, with the torpedo measuring 6 1/8 x 52 and having an MSRP of $9.50 per cigar and $190 per box, while the 38 Special lancero measures 7 1/2 x 38 and is priced at $9.75 per box and $190 per box. Both of the new vitolas are described as limited but ongoing production, with a blend that uses a higher priming of its Sancti Spiritus wrapper than the company’s core line. With the release of these two new sizes, the L’Atelier Selection Spéciale line stands at four sizes, including the original 46 SS and the event only Selection Spéciale Robusto.
