IPCPR 2014: Ted’s

While Ted’s is known for its flavored offerings, particularly the Maker’s Mark Cigars, the company spent the 2014 IPCPR trade show and convention focusing on its traditional premium offerings. That included expanding its Ted’s Made by Hand offerings, as well as a completely new line. FarrisThe company describes it as its “boldest” offering to date. It uses an Ecuadorian corojo wrapper, Dominican olor bind road Dominican ligero and seco fillers, as well as Nicaraguan viso. It actually shares a connection to owner Ted Jackson’s grandfather, including her signature phrase, “don’t borrow trouble.” Box issues—the color is slightly off—mean it might be a few months before Farris arrives at stores. More details here. Ted’s Made By Hand Connecticut ToroThere is now a 5 1/2 x 56 size of the Made By Hand Connecticut. Pricing is set at $7.50. Ted’s Made By Hand MaduroA logical extension for the company, the Made By Hand gains a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with pricing between $7-7.50. More details here. Erik Samelson of Ted’s said sales were doing well, including for the Maker’s Mark Cigar, which is most certainly the company’s most visible product.
